PRESENTATION
Ezra Bournarie Rodriguez est doctorant contractuel à l’Université de Strasbourg au sein de l’École Doctorale des Humanités (ED520), représenté par l’unité de recherche SEARCH (UR 2325). Sous la direction d’Hélène Ibata et co-encadré par Marianne Hillion, il se spécialise en études de genre, coloniales et postcoloniales ainsi que sur les relations entre l’Inde et la Grande-Bretagne aux cours des XVIII et XIX siècles. Sa thèse propose une approche intersectionnelle au récit de voyage, mêlant historiographie, sociologie et littérature. Au coeur de ses travaux, Ezra se penche sur l’écriture de “l’autre”, tout particulièrement des femmes, interrogeant les fantasmes orientalistes et occidentalistes dans l’optique de nuancer les théories d’Edward Saïd.
Ezra Bournarie Rodriguez is a PhD student at the University of Strasbourg within the Humanity Doctoral School (ED520), represented by the research lab SEARCH (UR 2325). Under the supervision of Hélène Ibata and co-supervised by Marianne Hillion, he specialises in gender, colonial and postcolonial studies, as well as in relations between India and Great-Britain during the XVIII and XIX centuries. With his thesis, he presents an intersectional approach to the travelogue, blending historiography, sociology and literary analysis. At the heart of his research, Ezra focuses on the processes of writing the “other”, especially women, questioning orientalist and occidentalist fantasies to nuance Edward Saïd’s theories
