Présentation :
(FR) Doctorante à l'Université de Strasbourg sous la codirection d'Hélène Ibata (SEARCH, Université de Strasbourg) et de Pauline Collombier (IDEA, Université de Lorraine), Suheyla-Hacer Sahin se spécialise dans l'histoire culturelle. Sa thèse porte sur la construction de l'identité britannique dans les récits de voyage en l’Empire ottoman (fin du XVIIIe- début du XIXe), avec un intérêt particulier pour les voyageurs qui s’engagent dans une discussion de la question d'Orient.
(EN) Suheyla-Hacer Sahin is a PhD student at the University of Strasbourg, working under the joint supervision of Hélène Ibata (SEARCH, University of Strasbourg) and Pauline Collombier (IDEA, University of Lorraine). She specialises in cultural history, studying in particular the way British travellers conceived their identity in their travel narratives. Her PhD thesis focuses on the formation of Britishness in travel narratives to the Ottoman Empire (end of the 18th- beginning of the 19th centuries), with a special interest in accounts that engage in a discussion of the Eastern Question.
